Many people think financial planning is only about money and having enough to retire on. Yet there are so many other things a financial planner can bring to the table, especially if they take time to fully explore and understand your situation.
Recently I’ve been asked by three different clients to do specific things and ended up doing something else entirely!
#1 asked to implement a specific style of insurance. They already had Life and Total & Permanent Disability covers in their self-managed super fund & didn’t want those reviewed we first spoke.
The policy documents showed gaping holes in their protection strategy. We’re currently working together to plug the gaps to better protect their lifestyle.
#2 asked for help to protect a Centrelink entitlement. We’re helping with so much more!
We listened to her situation, now estate planning is a major part of our advice because the client has a short life expectancy.
#3 wanted to know how to fund their future retirement. I listened and asked a few questions only to discover there are at least two tax effective options available to them they hadn’t known existed.
This client knows we go the extra mile, they’ve previously experienced how we work & is coming back for more.
Now all she has to do is decide when to retire.
