In the past few weeks I’ve been contacted by a number of upset women, mainly suffering from broken hearts and dreams and all anxious about their futures.
All had had their dreams shattered by a relationship breakdown and hoping to figure out where they stand financially even though their hearts were aching. What scared me the most was hearing one say…’well I’ll just walk away from everything. It’s too just hard’!
Before you do something extreme, please stop! Breathe deeply, take time to re-gather your thoughts and emotions…even if you don’t really want to…and start thinking about the future for you and the loved ones you support. Getting in control is important to your future, and the future of those you love and need to protect financially!
Now is not the time to simply walk away from the chaos. It’s also not the time to just take a DIY approach, that could end up costing you in more ways than you could imagine. Get pro-active, start by seeking professional advice to understand your rights. Yet it doesn’t have to be overwhelming, help is available.
Family law specialists and financial planners can be your allies at times like this; we can help by providing support and guidance designed to help see you out the other end of the separation maze.
