There are some days where being an adult is hard emotionally…today’s one of those days.
Recently my mother passed away and despite dealing with many other family losses over the years this one is different. This one makes me the ‘elder’ of our family unit…and with that comes responsibilities.
Going through her personal belongings was hard enough, but it uncovered a range but I’ve taken time this week to contact all of the providers (her hearing aid people, the diabetes association, her pharmacy, Medicare & Centrelink) she’s been using for years to let them know she’ll no longer be using their services.
The interesting thing was when I contacted the Australian Electoral Commission they told me they’d been advised by Birth’s Deaths and Marriages of her passing and she’d already been removed from all electoral roles.
The question is…why isn’t it possible to simply contact one government department to advise them once instead of making multiple calls?
