Today was an opportunity to deliver value and some Aged Care Advice to an intimate audience of carers, faced with having to make lots of tough decisions about their Loved Ones care. Having been through the process twice myself, I know it’s a time where everyone deserves to be heard and respected.
I was there to serve, so I set about answering questions and putting minds at rest in my usual no nonsense manner.
One lovely lady was concerned she might have to sell her home to allow her hubby to move to care, which would’ve left her homeless. When I explained that wasn’t necessary and she was given the key words to say to aged care facilities she was visibly relieved. You could see the tension leave her body as she relaxed into the chair, knowing her own life didn’t have to change just because her husband needed care.
It’s helping people understand there are options for the Loved One to move to care, regardless of their financial situation; that makes my heart sing and encourages me to keep doing what I love doing.
